Research and Academic Experience
Dr. Mehdi began his academic journey with a BSc in Psychology at the University of Glasgow, where his undergraduate dissertation explored what makes therapies effective and what strategies impact learning outcomes. This early interest in therapy engagement led him to pursue an MSc in Forensic Psychology, where he collaborated with Broadmoor Hospital on research examining factors that enhance forensic patients’ participation in therapy programmes.
Building on this foundation, Dr. Mehdi completed a professional doctorate in Forensic Psychology Practice, focusing his thesis on innovative methods to improve treatment engagement in community settings. Alongside his academic work, he has conducted service evaluation projects with the NHS, contributing to improvements in systems and therapeutic services.
Dr. Mehdi’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented his work at national and international conferences, sharing insights on therapy engagement and systemic factors in mental health care. As an honorary and guest lecturer at institutions like the University of Kingston and King’s College London, he has shared his expertise with the next generation of psychologists.
These experiences have deeply informed the mission of Mind Atlas, where Dr. Mehdi continues to integrate research-driven insights into real-world applications, fostering meaningful dialogue and transformative growth.
